When contestant Blair Davis introduced himself on TV game show Wheel of Fortune, he made an unexpected confession. When asked to talk about his family, the participant had some shocking words for his wife and step kids. And when he finished his savage evaluation of his home life, the audience weren’t quite sure how to respond.
For anyone who hasn’t seen Wheel of Fortune, it’s a game show that first began life way back in 1975. Contestants solve Hangman-style clues to win a sum of money selected at random by the spin of a giant wheel. It is the longest running syndicated game show in America, and Blair watches it every night with his wife, Kim.
Blair and Kim live in Cardiff, California; and together they run a small business dealing in property and trucking. Blair auditioned for Wheel of Fortune in July 2019, and filming took place the following month. However, since his episode aired, Blair found internet fame when his introduction went viral, and as of October 2019 it has been viewed by more than two million people on YouTube.
“I’ve been trapped in a loveless marriage for the last 12 years, to an old battle-axe named Kim,” Blair declares in the clip. A shocking confession, then, but he wasn’t done yet. He continues, “She cursed my life with three stepchildren named Star, RJ and Ryan, and I have one rotten grandson.” Naturally, it was a condemnation that host Pat Sajak wasn’t prepared for.
The usually unruffled host Pat begins laughing, adding, “I know you’re being facetious.” Blair then beams; he was, of course, speaking entirely tongue-in-cheek. He confesses, “Absolutely. I love them like nobody’s business.” Apparently, Kim was apparently expecting some brutal words from her husband. As he later described to NBC 7, “It wasn’t a surprise to her. She has an awesome sense of humor. We have a wonderful relationship – we’re best friends.”
